Types of Braces at Leber Ortho
This is a great time to wear braces! Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can choose brackets that are clear or metallic color. You can choose the color of the ties that hold the wire on the brackets. Wires are also less noticeable than they used to be and the latest materials move teeth faster with less discomfort to patients.
Invisalign®

Traditional Braces
Traditional braces are usually referred to as “metal braces” and are generally the most common. They are formed by bonding metal brackets to a patient’s teeth and connecting them through an arch wire. Traditional braces contain elastic bands that encompass the metal bracket. The elastic bands allow our patients to pick from a variety of colors during each appointment throughout the course of their braces treatment. This process allows the teeth to shift over time creating that “perfect smile”.
Clear Ceramic Braces
Ceramic braces are structured like traditional braces, although, the bracket is composed of clear material. Ceramic braces are popular among many because they are less noticeable than traditional braces. It is important to note that patients who choose ceramic braces need to be cautious of their oral hygiene because the material is delicate and can acquire stains. What is the best age for braces?

How long will I have to wear braces?
This will depend on your treatment plan and your unique needs. Most patients can count on wearing full braces between 12 and 24 months, followed by the wearing of a retainer to set and align tissues surrounding straightened teeth.
